peter's proposition

“if you hate it so much, why keep doing it?”

“well, i guess it’s because it makes me money.”

“yeah but couldn’t you make money doing something you actually like?”

“…”

“you like to write don’t you?”

“i do like to write.”

“alright, how about you just write a book and see what happens?”

“no one would read my book.”

“you don’t know that. people read anything. doesn’t matter if people like it or not, what matters is that they have an opinion. in two weeks...

write your book.”

“ - i can do that.”

“then take all the skills you’ve developed, and whether it’s good or bad doesn’t matter, just see how the world responds to it.”

“yeah… i can do that.”

in the distance could be seen mt. hood, there was nothing like it, the top dipped in snow. it stood out in all of it’s glory, seeing millenia of humans on this very hill stare at it in awe; it stared back at me in anticipation.

“i’m not worried about you, joel.”
